Nice string sounds - an understated piece with echos of Elgar and all that is wholesome about the late 19th century canon.

I felt the solo violin let the side down as far as string sounds are concerned - but its entry reminded me a little of Brahms Violin Concerto's slow movement - which can only be a good thing.
